2PE anti-corrosion steel pipe is a kind of high performance pipeline using double polyethylene anti-corrosion coating (2PE) technology. It is designed for harsh environment and is widely used in oil, natural gas, water supply and chemical industry. The anti-corrosion structure of 2PE anti-corrosion steel pipe is composed of two parts: the inner layer is molten epoxy powder (FBE), which provides excellent adhesion and electrochemical protection; the outer layer is high density polyethylene (PE), forming a strong physical barrier to effectively resist corrosion, mechanical damage and ultraviolet aging.

 

2PE anticorrosive steel pipe has significant advantages:

Dual protection: FBE + PE double-layer structure ensures long-term corrosion resistance and extends the life of the pipeline to more than 30 years.

Strong adaptability: low temperature resistance (-30℃) and high temperature (80℃), suitable for buried, overhead and other laying methods.

Cost-efficient: reduce maintenance requirements and reduce full life-cycle costs.

 

Given the excellent performance characteristics of 2PE anti-corrosion steel pipe, how is it produced? The production process is as follows:
Pretreatment: Surface treatment is performed first, and paper wrapping is applied to the pipe ends to prevent contamination of the inner wall. Medium-frequency induction heating is performed to 230±5°C to ensure a good bond between the adhesive and the base pipe. Temperature control accuracy is ±1°C to prevent coating defects caused by overheating.
Anti-corrosion coating: 2PE anti-corrosion steel pipe has a two-layer structure. The adhesive is first applied using an extruder to a thickness of 170-250μm and a wrapping coverage of ≥98%. The coating process must be completed while the powder is in a gelled state to avoid cold bonding. The polyethylene is then extruded and wrapped to a thickness of 1.8-3.7mm.
Quality Inspection: Finished products are inspected for adhesion ≥80N/cm, thickness tolerance ±0.2mm, and a 15kV spark test to ensure no breakdown. Unqualified products will not be shipped.

 

Typical applications of 2PE anti-corrosion steel pipe include:
Low-pressure pipelines: Municipal low-pressure water supply tributaries, residential sewage pipes, and rainwater collection pipes. Using 2PE corrosion-resistant steel pipe can save costs, making it a popular choice for some municipalities.
Rural water supply: Agricultural projects are cost-sensitive and require inexpensive, corrosion-resistant pipes with stringent service life requirements.
Low-risk circulation pipelines: Low-risk media require less demanding corrosion resistance, and 2PE anti-corrosion steel pipe can meet these requirements while reducing the need for frequent replacement during use, thus reducing plant maintenance costs.
Environmental greening: Urban landscape water system pipes and green belt sprinkler mains. The smooth, colorable outer layer of 2PE is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also provides strong adhesion to prevent delamination.
