What Are The Applications Of UV-cured Coated Pipes?

In municipal pipeline networks, industrial fluid transportation, chemical wastewater discharge, and factory water supply and drainage projects, pipeline corrosion and aging, leakage and damage, construction disturbances, long construction periods, and high post-construction maintenance costs have always been core pain points in project operation and maintenance. Traditional anti-corrosion and open-cut pipe replacement processes are not only costly and polluting, but also have limited service life, making them unsuitable for today's engineering construction standards that demand efficient construction, long-term durability, and environmental friendliness. In contrast, the complete UV-cured coating pipeline solution encompasses two core technologies: UV anti-corrosion protection for new pipelines and UV-CIPP trenchless lining repair for old pipelines. With its core advantages of rapid construction, superior corrosion resistance, lifelong durability, and zero-destructive construction, it has become the most cost-effective solution for new construction and pipeline renovation projects, significantly reducing project costs and post-construction maintenance pressure.

I. Special Application for New Pipelines: UV-Curated Protective Coating, Adding Long-Lasting Anti-Corrosion Armor to Pipelines

For various pipe materials, including brand-new steel pipes, 3PE anti-corrosion pipes, and plastic pipes, we employ an advanced external/internal UV-cured protective coating process to replace traditional paints, asphalt, and ordinary anti-corrosion coatings, creating a seamless, dense, and high-strength protective system for pipelines. This process uses 100% solvent-free photosensitive environmentally friendly coatings, relying on ultraviolet light for second-level curing, completely solving the common problems of traditional anti-corrosion coatings such as slow drying, easy peeling, odor, VOC emissions, and poor anti-corrosion performance.

Compared to traditional anti-corrosion processes, UV-cured pipeline coatings have significant practical advantages. Environmental protection and safety are the core highlights; the entire process is solvent-free and has zero harmful volatile emissions, fully complying with the environmental protection construction requirements of municipal, chemical, and industrial areas, with no construction pollution and no safety hazards. Construction efficiency is significantly improved; UV light curing for 3 to 10 seconds is sufficient for complete curing. It allows for mass prefabrication in factories and rapid on-site touch-ups. Even complex and irregularly shaped parts such as flanges, elbows, and valves can be integrally formed in one piece without seams, eliminating the risk of localized corrosion and leakage at the source.

II. Specifically for Old Pipeline Renovation: UV-CIPP Trenchless Lining Repair – No Road Demolition, Fast Repair, 50-Year Lifespan. Addressing issues such as cracking, leakage, corrosion, siltation, deformation, and insufficient load-bearing capacity in old pipelines, traditional open-cut pipe replacement suffers from numerous drawbacks, including road damage, green space destruction, traffic disruption, lengthy construction periods, high costs, and severe dust and noise pollution, seriously affecting urban traffic and normal factory production. UV-CIPP ultraviolet light curing trenchless repair technology, however, requires no ground excavation or large-scale construction. The entire pipeline can be refurbished using existing manholes, making it the mainstream and preferred technology for the renovation and upgrading of old pipelines.

The core of this technology involves inserting a fiberglass tube impregnated with photosensitive resin into the existing damaged pipeline. After inflation and UV curing, a new, seamless, high-strength fiberglass lining is formed inside the old pipe, creating a "pipe-in-pipe" composite structure. This preserves the original pipeline structure while achieving overall pipeline renovation and structural reinforcement. The entire set of materials uses styrene-free, environmentally friendly photosensitive resin, which is easy to store, odorless during construction, and free from high-temperature pollution during curing, making it safe for demanding construction scenarios such as urban areas, residential areas, and factory areas.

The two core technologies of UV-cured pipelines complement each other, fully covering the entire lifecycle needs of pipeline construction protection and aging repair. New projects utilize UV-cured protective coatings to improve pipeline corrosion resistance and service life at low cost, enhancing project quality from the source. For aging pipeline renovation, UV-CIPP trenchless lining technology is used to achieve pipeline renovation and upgrades with minimal construction costs and impact.

Compared to traditional processes, the complete UV-cured pipeline solution offers comprehensive advantages such as fast construction, high aesthetic appeal, stable performance, greater environmental friendliness, long lifespan, and less maintenance. It can meet the high-standard acceptance requirements of municipal engineering projects and adapt to the complex media usage environment of industrial plants. It is currently the optimal solution for improving the quality, reducing costs, and increasing efficiency of pipeline engineering, and it is also the mainstream technology that more and more engineering companies and clients are choosing.
