Breaking Through The Barriers Of Cryogenic Materials, Domestically Produced Cryogenic Toughness Alloy Seamless Pipes Have Been Shipped in Batches To Russian Far East Oil And Gas Projects

With the accelerated development of global polar oil and gas, oil and gas fields in northern Russia and Canada have long operated in environments ranging from -40°C to -70°C. Conventional pipes are highly susceptible to cold brittle fracture and downhole leakage. Previously, high-end cryogenic pipes relied heavily on imports from Europe and the United States, resulting in long procurement cycles and high overall costs. Targeting the harsh conditions of oil and gas extraction in cold regions, the company's technical team optimized the nickel-molybdenum-vanadium alloy ratio and implemented a specialized low-temperature tempering heat treatment process. This refined the internal metallographic grains of the pipes, significantly reducing the brittle-to-cold transition temperature. The seamless hot-rolled structure eliminates weld stress weaknesses, resulting in uniform and stable overall impact toughness. The pipes have passed dual international low-temperature pipe standard certifications: ASTM A333 and EN10216.

This export shipment covers multiple specifications of downhole support casing, drilling hydraulic lines, and low-temperature gathering and transportation pipelines. All pipes undergo -60°C low-temperature impact testing and 100% ultrasonic non-destructive testing before leaving the factory. They are accompanied by English material certificates, third-party SGS test reports, and CE pressure equipment certification, meeting the traceability and customs clearance requirements of overseas oilfield supervisors. Compared to similar overseas products, the procurement cost of domestically produced pipes is reduced by more than 30%, and the wall thickness and alloy composition can be adjusted according to the lowest temperature in the mining area, providing customized pipe solutions.

The overseas procurement manager stated that the pipes will be used in the expansion project of oil and gas wells in the Far East New Area. Their long-lasting antifreeze and rock impact resistance properties will significantly reduce the frequency of equipment maintenance downtime. The company representative revealed that they will continue to expand into the cold-climate energy markets of Central Asia and Northern Europe, increasing their production capacity for cryogenic specialty pipes, and using high-performance domestically produced pipes to support the development of polar energy infrastructure along the Belt and Road Initiative
