Preferred Scheme For Small-Diameter Pipes With Double-Layer Polyethylene Anti-Corrosion Coating

Double-layer polyethylene (2PE) anti-corrosion coatings have become the mainstream anti-corrosion solution for small- and medium-diameter oil and gas pipelines (DN100-DN500) due to their high cost-effectiveness and stable performance.

The product is manufactured strictly according to GB/T 23257-2017 standards. It consists of an adhesive layer and a high-density polyethylene layer, achieving the required adhesion, impact resistance, and water-resistant corrosion protection. Its designed service life is 30 to 40 years. This coating can be used with Q355 series low-temperature low-alloy steel pipes and is suitable for temperate and mildly low-temperature environments, with a maximum applicable medium temperature of 60℃.

Compared to 3PE coatings, 2PE eliminates the epoxy powder layer, reducing overall costs by 15%-20%. It is easier to apply and has higher production efficiency, making it ideal for natural gas branch lines, refined oil transportation, and municipal water supply and drainage projects.

Industry insiders indicate that with the continued implementation of domestic pipeline network renovation and branch line projects, the market application space for 2PE anti-corrosion coatings, which combine practicality and economy, will continue to expand.
